"Indian artists are more likely to work with you one-on-one, which could provide you with additions and changes," says Sahil Rohira.

Sahil Rohira started working as a professional photographer in 2014, and since then, he has earned countless awards and become one of India's most well-known photographers. Sahil Rohira has developed a unique working style over the years and is very driven by his work. The professional and artistic output of Sahil Rohira reflects a prolonged history of working in post-production.

When asked about his journey, Sahil stated, "Yes, it was back in 2019, and since then I’ve pretty much been in the US doing a lot of work with big-name artists and brands." Looking back definitely motivates me to want to do more. It’s been a crazy few years, and I’ve definitely grown a lot and had the opportunity to do a lot of work internationally since I was stuck in Los Angeles during COVID and wasn’t able to travel back to India. My journey until now has been a lot of hard work, and it’s only about to get better. Looking back definitely motivates me to want to do more. I have grown tremendously over the last few years in terms of experience and professionalism. I'm looking forward to a lot more projects in 2023!"

Furthermore, when asked about "the moment" that made him realise that this is what he wants to do professionally, Sahil replied by saying, "I was a part of a reality show called “Big Switch 3" on Disney UTV Bindass in 2011 which was hosted by Rohit Shetty and we were filming for one month in a house in Madh Island, which was probably one of the most eye-opening experiences. It made me want to go to film school to actually learn everything. I graduated from the New York Film Academy and UCLA, then went ahead to further pursue photography. It’s been almost 10 years now that I’ve been working in the film, fashion, and music industry. I’ve had the opportunity to work with some amazing artists, creatives, and mentors both in India and internationally. I love producing my own shoots and being involved throughout the process."

Lastly, when we asked Sahil to describe the contrasts in the work he encounters when working with international artists versus Indian artists, he responded, "With international artists, you may be working with people who live in different parts of the world and have different cultural backgrounds. This could involve presenting your work in a different language to the artist and may involve working with a different shooting ratio and different scheduling. Indian artists, on the other hand, are often based in India and may be more familiar with the work flow and shooting parameters that are typically used in Indian photography. Additionally, Indian artists are more likely to work with you one-on-one, which could provide additional challenges in terms of producing the project."

Sahil, who at the 2019 Golden Glory Awards also took home the Emerging Young Photographer of the Year honor, Through many intriguing initiatives and worthwhile experiences, Sahil aims to make a success of his creativity in the upcoming years. He seems to be moving in the right direction because of his desire, at best. Best wishes for the future are sent to him.
