HC REFUSES INTERIM RELIEF FOR AGE RELAXATION IN STUDENT POLLS

Jaipur: In a setback to the students aspiring to contest student union elections while seeking age relaxation due to the Corona crisis, the HC refused to grant interim relief on petition. A division bench of Acting CJ MM Srivastava and Justice Vinod Kumar Bharwani on Wednesday refused to grant interim relief in the matter of relaxation of age limit.

The order was given on the petition of Lokendra Singh and others. Now the hearing in the case will be held after two weeks. Meanwhile, petitioner student leader, Lokendra Singh on Wednesday slit his hand while addressing a rally inside varsity campus. Lokendra Singh, made a series of allegations against RU administration for not paying heed to demands & later slit his hand. Sources informed police & university administration remained mute spectators while Lokendra was bleeding on stage. “Lokendra slit his hand with a knife while addressing a rally inside university. This is against rules and action will be taken,” said ADSW Vishal Vikram Singh.
