Test results -ve for 18 people exposed to Demoiselle cranes

Phalodi: In a concerning development from Phalodi, a sick crane has died, prompting a high alert from Phalodi to Jaisalmer. Nine cranes have died so far due to an unknown illness, raising suspicions of bird flu. Tourists, who had come to enjoy the playful antics of the cranes, were stopped from visiting the area and had to return disappointed.

However, all 18 individuals who had come into contact with the sick cranes tested negative for the virus. The control room has ensured that all necessary arrangements for treatment are in place. The Animal Husbandry Department has formed three separate teams to manage the situation, and forest personnel are maintaining strict vigilance at the crane camping site.
