Jaipur: In what could be termed as a ‘blitzkrieg’, the DGGI raided different locations of pan masala vendors in Jodhpur, besides catching GST evasion of crores of rupees and also recovered many important documents while arresting 2 gutka firm owners.

According to the information received from the sources, DGGI had been eyeing the ‘Mast Pan Masala’ vendors for a long time and this past week, the DGGI team, raided the place of pan masala and gutka traders for a GST evasion case and recovered `22 crore from a gutka dealer and also arresting 2 owners of another gutka firm, for GST evasion of Rs 40-50 crore.

Meanwhile, in continuation of its raids, the DGGI team carried out a raid against DhariwalKhainiwala traders and when the owner of the firm was made to pay, the owner - Nitin - coughed Rs 11 crore of tax.

Notably, the raid has been undertaken by the Central GST and has raised the question as to why haven’t officials of Rajasthan GST taken action in this regard?

It is worth noting that there was a stir among the pan masala vendors in Jodhpur when the DGGI conducted surprise raids.
