Madan Rathore receives death threat, 1 held

Jaipur: Rajasthan BJP State President Madan Rathore received a death threat over a phone call from an unidentified individual on Friday when he was in Delhi, creating a stir in political circles. The police promptly acted and arrested accused, identified as Hetram Manglaw, a resident of Chak 1 LM in Anupgarh. Speaking to the media, Rathore clarified, “I have no connection with any Meena-related issue, so I don’t understand why this call was made.”

Speaking to the media, Madan Rathore confirmed the arrest and said, “The person who issued the threat has been caught. There is no need to increase my security as I already have been given adequate arrangements.” Rathore further mentioned that the accused claimed to be associated with someone named Naresh Meena.

The accused, Hetram Manglaw, is reportedly not in a stable mental condition, as per preliminary findings. Anupgarh SHO Anil Kumar led the operation, with SP Ramesh Maurya and DySP Prashant Kaushik overseeing the case. Head Constable Mahavir Prasad is conducting further interrogation of the accused at the Anupgarh police station.

Rathore expressed concerns over the rising drug menace in regions like Ganganagar, urging authorities to take strict measures to control it. While downplaying the threat, he did not rule out the possibility of a conspiracy, stating, “The matter could be serious or even a conspiracy. The person who made the call appeared educated and is said to have previously worked as a personal assistant to a politician.”
