Governor Bagade pushes for tribal welfare
Jaipur: Governor Haribhau Bagade inaugurated the Aadi Mahotsav, organised at Shilp Gram, Jawahar Kala Kendra, by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, TRIFED and Nagar Nigam Greater on Friday. On this occasion, he felicitated the artisans and artists participating from across the country in Mahotsav and urged the public to use tribal products into their daily lives.
Paying homage to Birsa Munda during the event, Bagade said that Birsa Munda not only fought against the British but also worked tirelessly to raise awareness in tribal regions. He said that, since 2021, under the initiative of PM Narendra Modi, November 15 has been celebrated annually as Janjati Gaurav Diwas. This day is dedicated to preserving tribal traditions, fostering their development, and ensuring their overall welfare.
He emphasized the importance of preserving tribal traditions and adopting their nature-oriented practices. He called for creating more livelihood opportunities while addressing the specific needs of tribal regions to ensure their comprehensive development.
