2 kids carried away, eaten by leopard on same evening

Bahraich: A man-eater leopard carried away, killed and ate body parts of two children near the Katarniaghat Forest Range in Bahraich district on Monday evening.

At around 6 PM Monday, a 9-year-old child named Ramtej was carried away by the leopard in Ghusri Beat area under Motipur division of Katarniaghat Range.

The incident caused panic in the region and a search operation was launched by local villagers along with forest department staff and police.

The search came to a horrific end when the child’s body was found badly mauled, its head and part of the chest missing.

Another such incident was reported on the same day from Motipur where a 4-yearold boy named Aditya, who had come to visit his maternal uncle’s house, was carried away by the leopard at around 7:45 PM.
