Tribal community an ‘integral’ part of Indian civilisation: Guv in Banswara

Banswara: Tribal community has always been an integral part of Indian civilisation with its spiritual traditions, distinctive culture and superior life values, Governor Kalraj Mishra said on Tuesday. He said that tribal people devoted their lives to the defense of the nation. “Various government schemes by the Central and State Governments are being implemented for the welfare of the tribal people,” he said. The Governor was speaking at a programme in Govind Guru tribal university in Banswara organised by national ST commission. Underlining the role of tribal heroes in the freedom struggle of Vagad, Mishra said that 1507 tribal people were martyred at Mangarh Dham and heroes like Govind Guru and Kali Bai also had a crucial contribution to the freedom struggle.
