Asaduddin Owaisi submits representation demanding action against Yati Narsinghanand for alleged hate speech
Hyderabad: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) Chief Asaduddin Owaisi and other MLAs met Hyderabad Commissioner CV Anand on Sunday and submitted a representation on behalf of AIMIM to take legal action against Yati Narsinghanand for making an alleged hate speech statement.
Asaduddin Owaisi said, "AIMIM MLAs along with me met Hyderabad Commissioner CV Anand. We have given a representation in which we have demanded that Yati Narsinghanand Saraswati who is a priest in a Dasna, Ghaziabad temple, has made blasphemous and derogatory remarks against Prophet Muhammad in a video in a speech. In the past he has gone to jail for such remarks. She should be arrested. We have also demanded removal of the derogatory content from social media. We feel that she has support of the Yogi government. Why is BJP not condemning it? We demand her immediate arrest."
He further said that one more video of a friend of Yati Narsinghanand has surfaced which talks about burning the effigy of the Prophet.
"They want to create trouble in the country. Similar comments were made in Maharashtra. They are working to weaken the country. They are making mockery of law and order. In Islam there are no images of god and they are talking about burning effigies. We demand PM Modi and Yogi Adityanath to take action. This is hurting sentiments of 19 crore Muslims of the country," he added.
Various complaints were filed against Yati Narsinghanand Saraswati on Saturday in Hyderabad for his remarks.
According to Madannapet CI Srinivas, "The incident occurred at Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. Many petitions have been filed at various police stations. Some of the local AIMIM party leaders around 20-25 members came to the police station yesterday midnight and gave the petition. We will make a GD entry and inform to our superior officer who will inform to the PS at the incident place. The case will be registered at the incident place."
Falaknuma ACP Yadgiri also confirmed that he has also received a complaint yesterday.
Nampally CI Appala Naidu said, "Yesterday morning, TPCC Secretary Rashed khan filed a complaint. The complainant stated that the accused had made comments that instead of burning Ravana, Prophet Muhammad should be burned this time. We will investigate into the issue."
