PREZ MURMU: SCOUTS & GUIDES WORK FOR SOCIETY’S WELFARE

Pali: President Droupadi Murmu on Wednesday said that Scouts and Guides do not work for their personal gain but for the benefit of the society. “There are many examples from all over the world including Martin Luther King Jr. who campaigned against racism, and Bill Gates, who revolutionized technology, who also worked as scouts in their lives. This organization inculcates a sense of universal values and ethos in the youth, which helps them throughout their life,” the President said after inaugurating the 18th National Scouts and Guides Jamboree at Rohat in Pali district.

“During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Bharat Scouts and Guides have shown exemplary courage in serving the society. Immediate remedial measures have to be taken for the adverse effects of climate change. Scouts & Guides can play an important role by adopting renewable energy, reducing carbon footprint and making sustainable efforts,” she said. “Youth are future builders of nation. Urge them to move ahead with full faith in themselves to face upcoming challenges,” the President said.
