50 Muslim couples tie knot at mass marriage event near Indo-Pak border
Barmer: On Sunday Muslim community has taken a unique initiative by organizing a group wedding ceremony for around 50 couples. All these couples were tied in marital knot in single event and also in record time of 50 minutes. Not only has this, the entire expenses of the event have been collectively borne by the community people. Organizers said that the motive behind this event is to reduce unnecessary wedding expenses.
The event was organized in Harpaliya village located close to the Indo-Pak border at a mere distance of 3 kilometres. During the event thousands of people from Muslim community were presented. The event was planned by the Hazrat Peer Syed Nasrullah Shah Bukhari. Event organizer and village Sarpanch Sacchu Khan sharing the cause behind the event said that the event was planned to reduce the unnecessary wedding expenses. He said that in the present time it is witnessed that just to show-off, people are unnecessarily spending money on the weddings. It is badly affecting the weaker section of the society. Taking note of this, they have planned this event.
Khan said that when they shared the idea with villagers, large number of people came forward to join in and people have willingly contributed financial assistance for the event.
