AN AVERAGE FILM

The film is based on Prithviraj Raso and it tells the story of the Rajput warrior and king Prithviraj Chauhan of the Chauhan dynasty, who clashes with Muhammad Ghori, a ruler from the Ghurid Dynasty who led the Islamic Conquest of Hindustan.

The character of Prithviraj Chauhan is played by Akshay Kumar whereas Manushi Chillar dawns the character of Sanyogita. The story of the film is known to all hence there is no surprise factor, however, the screenplay of the film and the direction keeps the film very simple. It seems that Akshay Kumar looks quite out of place as the ruler of Hindustan. He underplays the character of Samrat whose valour was extremely great. The film misses out on playing the heroic portrayal of Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan. On the other hand, Manushi Chhillar makes a confident debut and has a promising screen presence. Sanjay Dutt and Sonu Sood’s characters could have been powerful too but both the actors seem to be underused in the film.

The music of the film is also not that great which will be remembered by the audiences. Overall the film does not do justice to the great warrior Prithviraj Chauhan. It comes out to be a very average film.
