MODI AND HIS HOLINESS!

The narrators highlight that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s efforts in building the Ram Temple in Ayodhya brought to fruition the collective aspirations of millions of Lord Ram’s followers, a vision that had been centuries in the making through untold struggles and sacrifices and lots more...

NARENDRA MODI ON THE PATH OF LORD RAM

Lord Ram’s journey is not just a story but a living message of sacrifice, truth and dharma. By establishing the Ram Temple at Ayodhya, Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave wings to a dream woven by millions of devotees of Lord Ram through 500 years of sacrifice and struggle. Before the Pran Pratishtha at Ayodhya, Modi visited all the important temples associated with Lord Ram through 11 days of travel and hardship. All those days, he lived just on coconut water and slept on the floor, shorn of all luxuries of life his position offers him. Modi ji first came to Kalaram Temple in Nashik and the first thing he did was to participate in the purification ritual on the bank of the holy Godavari river. After that he went to the temple of Maruti (Hanuman), the most ardent devotee of Lord Ram and then he entered the Garbhagriha of the temple to pay his obeisance to Lord Ram, Laxman and Sita. Here he took the blessings of the saints and later swept the floor of the temple as a sevak. In his walk and demeanour and his activities, he was no more than a common devotee at that time. It was a very pleasant experience to see the country’s PM in such an unassuming stance and the aura of devotion that complimented it. His next destination was the Veerbhadra temple at Lepakshi where Jatayu is believed to have laid down his life in his bid to save goddess Sita. Here Modi ji worshipped and remembered the sacrifice and courage of Jatayu. It was not just devotion but also a way to imbibe the teaching of Ramayana in life. He asked about the significance of the temple and when we told him that here Jatayu was given Moksha by Lord Ram, he was mesmerised and bowed his head in respect. Ram bhajan and Ram kirtan was organised at the temple and the PM’s presence and participation made it all a very memorable and ennobling event. Modi ji was visibly moved by the spiritual and devotional atmosphere. The PM’s next stop was at Triprayar Shri Ramaswami Temple in Kerala. The PM came here and fed the fish in the water body. Then with lotus in hand and a pitcher of ghee he went to the temple of Lord Ram and worshipped there. He lit lamps too. His visits to the temples were not just for his personal devotion but they also established a connection of his leadership and piety with the values and ideals of Lord Ram and further steeled his reverence and faith in the Lord. Narendra Modi’s next destination was Shriranganathswami Temple at Trichy – a temple symbolic of dharma and compassion. Here Modi ji remembered the teachings of the Ramayana – sacrifice for dharma and sadhana for truth. It was necessary to take the blessings of Lord Ranganathswami before the Pran Pratishtha of Lord Ram because Ranganathswami was the family deity of Ram Lalla. The Jyotirling at Rameshwaram is a symbol of Lord Ram’s victory march. It is from here that Lord Rama had started his journey across the sea after worshipping Lord Shiva. This was Modi ji’s next destination. Here at the Ramnathswami temple he did Jalabhishek and remembered the devotion and resolve of Lord Ram. He also stayed in a small room and took bath with the holy waters of the 22 kunds in the temple. Later he participated in Pravachan and counted beads before proceeding towards Dhanushkodi. Dhanushkodi is an important destination in Ramayana and here the PM worshipped at confluence of 2 seas. He decked up the holy spot with flowers of different colours and was seen in meditative spirit. This was culmination of not just Modi ji’s journey but also the fruition of centuries old aspirations and struggles of millions of Hindus to establish their identity through Ram temple. It signaled a new beginning for Sanatan traditions. When Modi ji reached temple at Ayodhya, he was lost in meditative spirit and neither did he talk to anyone nor look towards anyone. By walking on path of Lord Ram’s teachings, Modi ji not only lived Ram, he also made every Indian realise that path of truth is greatest dharma.
