Steps will be taken to stop revenue leakage

Jaipur: Deputy Chief Minister (Finance) Diya Kumari is going to present the first vote on account of Bhajan Lal government in the Assembly on Thursday. In this, along with finding resources to increase revenue, stopping revenue leakage will also be a challenge. In view of the rapidly increasing deficit in the state, it will be a challenge for the Bhajan Lal government to take concrete steps for financial management.

There is full hope that concrete steps will be taken to stop revenue leakage and financial management in the Vote on Account.

According to the latest data of the Finance Department regarding Rajasthan, the state government has a debt of Rs 5,05,573.78 crore till March 31, 2023. The expenditure on Rajasthan in the year 2019 was Rs 3.39 lakh crore. It would have taken time from 2026 to 27 to reduce this debt, but the free schemes have increased this debt further. RBI has expressed concern in its report. Now it cannot be reduced till 2026-27.
