Rly official in ACB net with Rs 40K; Narco inspector booked for graft

Jaipur/Kota: The chief health inspector of railway was arrested by anti-corruption bureau while taking a bribe of Rs 40,000 from a sanitary contractor to clear his pending bill. The ACB took action at the Jaipur junction. The accused inspector Vikas Meena, posted in Sikar, had come to Jaipur only to collect the bribe. After verification, the accused was trapped.

The accused had demanded bribe from the contractor to clear his bill pending since 2021. The complainant had a contract of sanitation and water supply in Bandikui in 2021. To clear the bills, Meena demanded a bribe of Rs 50,000. He was caught red handed while taking a bribe amount of Rs 40,000.

Meanwhile, in Kota, the ACB has booked an officer of Central Narcotics Control Bureau posted in Chittorgarh in a case of graft. The ACB had recovered an unaccounted cash of Rs 2.16 lakh from the vehicle of narcotics inspector Arun Kumar two months back. It is suspected the cash was collected from opium cultivators illegally.
