Investment worth Rs 25K cr expected in Barmer: CS

Jaipur: Chief Secretary Usha Sharma on Monday directed RIICO MD Shivprasad Nakate to prepare the master plan of Rajasthan Petro Zone (RPZ), being developed with the oil refinery in Barmer. Sharma said that as per the budget announcement 2020-21, RPZ with the oil refinery at Pachpadra will be developed in collaboration with RIICO. She said that investment of more than Rs 25,000 crores is expected in this zone.

“Along with this, a large number of direct and indirect employment will be generated,” she added. The chief secretary said that the project would strengthen the economic progress of the state. In the meeting, ACS Industries Veenu Gupta informed that the zone would be developed in 50sq kilometer area in the first phase at a cost of 1000 crores. MD RIICO made a presentation on RPZ and informed that in the first phase, works worth 100 crores have been Ravi Katara started in Borawas area.
