"Top floor gutted, students and faculty evacuated on time," Srinagar official on school fire
Srinagar: The fire that broke out at the Muslim Public School in Srinagar had damaged the entire top floor of the building but students and faculty were evacuated on time, Srinagar Divisional Fire officer, Zorawar Singh said on Thursday.
Speaking to ANI, Singh, the Divisional Fire officer, Headquarters, said, "We received the fire call at 12:31 pm. When we reached, the top floor of Muslim Public School had been gutted in fire. Evacuation process of students and faculty was going on. We carried out a search operation to check for any students stuck in the fire, after which we started our operation."
"The fire has been doused but cooling process will take time. The fire did not spread anywhere else, only the top floor of the building has been gutted. The cause of the blaze is yet to be ascertained," said the fire officer.
A fire broke out in the Muslim Public school building in the Kursoo Rajbagh area of Jammu and Kashmir's Srinagar.
Shortly after receiving information on the blaze, fire tenders rushed to the site to conduct dousing operations.
No casualties or injuries from the incident has been reported as yet. The reason for the fire is yet to be ascertained.
