CONSUMERS NEED TO SAVE ELECTRICITY TO HELP CONTAIN POWER CRISIS: SAWANT

Jaipur: With hike in power demand, power cuts for about 4-5 hours in rural areas & for 2-3 hours in towns are plaguing people. Officers are engaged in power management amid power crisis. Principal Secretary Energy, Bhaskar A Sawant has taken charge of the situation. He is continuously coordinating with all three Discoms and Rajasthan Energy Development Corporation and taking feedback on power load and power cut across the state.

In a special interview with First India, Bhaskar A Sawant shared efforts being made to contain the situation. “Power crisis has deepened not only in Raj, but across the country. Industrial units are running on full load & demand for domestic electricity has increased. So, the Discoms are compelled to impose cuts,” he said.
