PPCB cracks down on an illegal waste material store in Phagwara

Phagwara: In an exemplary action a Team of Punjab Pollution Board headed by Executive Engineer (XEN) Kuldip Singh raided a Waste Material Store named “ Ghera Enterprises” in Rawalpindi village on Phagwara and recovered more than 800 Kg of Plastic and around 350 plastic glasses including waste syringes, gloves, disposable injections and empty bottles of glucose used in the hospital kept in the Waste Material Store of a person who was endangering the health of the people.

Pollution Board XEN Kuldeep Singh while confirming it told this correspondent here on Tuesday evening that the department had received the information this morning and the team chased the vehicle Tata-407 number PB65AY-7459 belonging to Rainbow Environment Ltd Mohali which was engaged to pick the waste material from different hospitals for treatment.

Singh said that the department has recommended to the local police to register a criminal case against the WareHouse Owner Rajinder Kmar and Rainbow Environment Ltd Owner Sarabjit Singh.
