Middleman held for taking bribe in Barmer, prime accused flees

Barmer:Anti Corruption Bureau team on Saturday arrested a middleman while accepting bribe of Rs 3000. Bribe was taken in the name of junior assistant for releasing payment of tanka (open well) work. However, on getting informed about the arrest of middleman, accused junior assistant escaped.

ACB official said that they have launched a hunt for the absconded accused. Ramniwas Sunda, additional superintendent at ACB Barmer said that complainant Fusaram, a resident of Deengarh village in Chohtan block of Barmer approached the ACB that Poonma Ram, junior assistant at panchayat samiti Dhanau, is demanding bribe of Rs 10,000t for releasing payment of the tanka (open well) work sanctioned in the name of his sister-in-law.

According to the complainant accused asked him to give bribe to the middleman Kanwra Ram. After which complainant approached the ACB.

After verifying the complaint on January 12 by giving Rs 2000 to the middleman, on January 15, ACB caught the middleman red handed.
