Even big leaders couldn’t mobilise disillusioned voters

Jaipur: The voting conducted on 25 Lok Sabha seats of the State has shown a trend of low voting.

Even veteran leaders could not be as successful in bringing the lax voters to the booth as was being claimed. If we compare the voting in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the constituencies of Urban Development Minister Jhabar Singh Kharra, Water Resources Minister Suresh Rawat and Deputy Chief Minister Premchand Bairwa lagged behind.

In Kharra’s Shrimadhopur assembly seat, 11.94 percent less votes were cast as compared to the previous elections. Same was the condition of Dudu Assembly constituency of Deputy Chief Minister Bairwa. Here too, 11.26 percent less votes were cast as compared to 2019.

In the assembly constituencies of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma’s Sanganer, Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari’s Vidyadhar Nagar, former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s Sardarpura, State Congress President Govind Singh Dotasara’s Laxmangarh, Leader of Opposition Tikaram Jully’s Alwar Rural and other stalwarts, voter enthusiasm was less than in the last Lok Sabha election.

However, compared to the last time, there was a very slight difference in the percentage of voting in Minister Otaram Dewasi’s, Minister of State for Home Jawahar Singh Bedham’s and Education Minister Madan Dilawar’s seats.
