CS Pant inspects Vidyut Bhawan, expresses concern over file delays and absentee officers

Jaipur: Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant made an unexpected visit to Vidyut Bhawan on Thursday morning for an inspection. At around 9:15 am, upon receiving word of the Pant’s arrival, officers and employees hurried to the office. During the inspection, the CS powered on office computers, reviewed file backlogs, and photographed documents on officers’ desks. Upon entering Vidyut Bhawan, Pant headed straight to the first floor and visited the room of top Energy Dept officials, finding most rooms unoccupied.

When MD of RRVPNL, Nathmal Didel arrived 7 minutes late, CS questioned the impact on timely work.

CS asked why the JS was present there and if his chamber was not in the Secretariat. Pant expressed displeasure over the long file disposal time of AEn.

During his media interaction after the visit, CS Pant emphasised the need for further improvement. Jaipur Discom CMD Bhanu Prakash Yeturu attributed the absence of many officers to health reasons. A report will be compiled regarding the whereabouts of missing officers. On the question of re-employing retired personnel, Pant said, “Earlier, retired employees were engaged on routine basis but now it is as per need.” Regarding issue of room inside a room, he emphasised that it is responsibility of MD & others to address these arrangements. “We need to focus on improving the system. I’ve observed the setup of JS’s chamber; I believe chambers for Joint Secretarylevel officers should be in Secretariat.”
