Gujarat & Maharashtra’s Foundation Days celebrated at Raj Bhavan

Jaipur: The foundation day of Gujarat and Maharashtra states was celebrated at Raj Bhavan on Wednesday.

Governor Kalraj Mishra interacted with the people of both states congratulated them and gave them good wishes.

He said that ever since Maharashtra and Gujarat became separate states on a linguistic basis, both have made significant contributions to national progress.

Describing Gujarat and Maharashtra as the fertile land of the freedom movement, he also remembered Sardar Patel, Mahatma Gandhi, and Lokmanya Tilak among others.

The Governor said that Somnath is the holy place of Lord Shiva in Gujarat and also Dwarka of Lord Krishna.

He said that along with industrial development, Gujarat has also created a unique identity across the country with its festive cultural and social traditions.

Describing Maharashtra as the land of spirituality, philosophy, and saint traditions, he said that it was on this land of saints like Saint Tukaram and Swami Samarth Ramdas and personalities like Chhatrapati Shivaji, Veer Savarkar, Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar initiated positive change in the society.

Secretary to the Governor Gaurav Goyal and principal Officer on Special Duty (OSD) Govindram Jaiswal were also present on the occasion.
