The Banchod Niwas gang – Sameer, Akhil, Avinash and Lakshay are back with a new season of Feels Like Home exclusively on Lionsgate Play, and this time around they are learning to work through thick-and-thin of life, in a mature manner. Four friends living under one roof, all with different personalities and different outlook towards life, different aspirations and desires in life, find themselves turning into each-others support addressing multiple emotions of joys, sorrows, romance and vulnerabilities.
Right off the bat, the writer and director have done a remarkable job with their stellar grip on the narrative and concept of the show. They haven’t deviated one bit from the first season, it’s a perfect season 2 that continues the journey of these boys. Its definitely is a step up in comparison to season 1.
Sameer, our beloved modern day Ghalib, who is still talking to his imaginary friend, faces his fears, and recites his poetry in-front of whole college. Sameer is going through a lot of emotions, and is trying to prove a point to himself – this is captured well by Anshuman Malhotra who portrays Sameer. His confusion and emotions somewhere seep into his relationship with Driti ( Himika Bose) – we expect some lovey dovey and mush next season from these two.
Akhil Gandhi (Mihir Ahuja), the tall and lanky sweetheart boy is facing mid-life crisis in his late teens. He is dealing with a lot in thesecond season, his injury, longing for home, career choice – there is a streak of mental health that has been touched upon by the makers. But the best part is, Gandhi finally finds a girl, who understands his shyness – is there lots of love for him next season?
Lakshay (Prit Kamani) is also put in line with some reality check, he finally realizes that his party hard and carefree attitude is adorable but destroys a lot of things in his life, which he holds dear. He finally has a girlfriend, but that’s complicated too – since its Mahima (Inayat Sood) who is Avi’s ex. The way Lakshay deals with friendship and love is relatable to the tee.
Avinash (Vishnu Kaushal) is doing some growing-up as well, though hysterical as usual, but finally finds the man-bone with his daddy issue personality, and lets go of his controlling issues and move on in life. His character towards the end of the season evolves and matures, it takes time but worth the watch. From being whinny and aggressive about Lakshay and Mahima’s relationship to finally making peace with it
We all have transformed from boyhood to adulthood in our college days, hence the show is relatable on many different levels. One could easily relate with issues and solutions, which are never to be found, it’s just about getting along and learning. Feels Like Home Season 2 is charming, humorous and nostalgic to an extent – takes us back to teenage life.
Akshay Oberoi, Himika Bose and Inayat Sood are also adding much needed propulsion to the story, and stellar with their performances.
The show starts streaming from 7th October exclusively on Lionsgate Play.
