Charles III crowned King of United Kingdom
King Charles III on Saturday was crowned the King and his wife Camilla Queen of United Kingdom at Westminster Abbey following their anointment, in a lavish coronation ceremony built on ancient traditions. The Archbishop of Canterbury crowned the King, placing the 360-year-old St Edward’s Crown on monarch’s head as he sat upon a 14th century throne. King had taken the solemn oath to govern the people of UK with “justice and mercy” and to foster an environment where people of all faiths and beliefs can live freely. The event was graced by Dr Jill Biden, the First Lady of USA, HE Isaac Herzog, President of Israel, Brazil’s President HE Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and others. Britain’s PM Rishi Sunak delivered reading from Epistle to Colossians, from New Testament of the Bible.
