SUKHWINDER ON BEING RANBIR’S FIRST CHOICE FOR SHAMSHERA

Sukhwinder Singh has sung three songs for Shamshera. In an exclusive interview with City First, Sukhwinder Singh talks about the trend of remixing old Bollywood songs, Being Ranbir Kapoor’s first choice and more.

Sukhwinder is known for his voice and now he crooned 3 major songs for the magnum opus as per the sources he was the first choice offered by Ranbir and Aditya Chopra speaking on the same he said,” The choice of the music composer and the music director is what’s important and I was the first choice of mithoon for the album. He has a vision and he found me apt for the voice, So I would like to thank Mithoon for giving me this opportunity”

Not only did he work on the background score he also visited the set of Shamshera for the shoot, “Everyone working on the film is connected to it, in every variation of film making everyone is involved. Similarly once while recording a song in Chalte Chalte Shah Rukh Khan was present at the recording studio. I had heard a lot about it as I’m very good friends with Karan Malhotra so I had to go and experience it myself” Speaking on the trends of the remix culture the singer said,” Remix culture is great but I believe the one who’s originally composed the song has to be given equal credits. It is dish e a r t e n i n g that we forget the people who actually make classic songs. Personally, I would love to be a part of remix songs. I accept evolution so I adapt to the good changes that come in and I make sure that my learning process never stops. To be somewhere one has to be dedicated with all their heart”

Sukhwinder is not only a well-known name in India but around the world speaking of his experience one the same he said,” Once during my visit to Newzealand, the team and the people of the National Hockey team recognised me by my voice for my song ‘Chak De India’. The song was played when the Indian Nationals women’s hockey Team defeated Newzealand’s team during the semi Finale Round. They felicitated me amongst their national team there. On the work front, Sukhwinder Singh has sung three songs for Ranbir Kapoor’s Shamshera. The three songs, crooned by Sukhwinder, are Hunkara, Parinda and Shamshera’s title track. Directed by Karan Malhotra, Shamshera is scheduled to be released on July 22, 2022.
