Nandini Jain (Owner, Nandini Jindal Luxury Makeovers) from Ghaziabad and working in Delhi gives sneak peek about her journey with a conerstaion with City First.

Tell us something about yourself
I am a self-made Makeup Artist, invested in multiple businesses. Started my journey as a teenager of 19 years to a well-established businesswoman. I am a Makeup Artist, Perfumer and Diamond Merchant. My Mantra is to follow your passion and follow its lead.

Where do you see yourself after the next 20 years?
In the next 20 years, I want to establish myself as an industrialist looking over my various businesses and prioritising contributing to the betterment of women. Also would look forward to having a comfortable life with my loved ones around.

How did your journey begin?
My journey began when I saw the zeal and hard work of my father. He became my role model be it in my professional life or personal. I took my first step towards business with my father’s jewellery showroom and learned how things are meant to be done. This knowledge drove me toward making my passion for a makeover a full-fledged business.

What were some of the battles you fought and are still fighting in your journey?
The biggest battle that I overcame would be the reactions of people around me when I first presented my idea of becoming a makeup artist rather than a full-time jeweller. Also like many other women, I faced the wrath of the patriarchal thoughts that made me raise my voice to question that “why can’t people accept an independent female or a business woman”. The battle I am still coping with is balancing my work life and personal life.

Talk to us about your achievements?
My achievements are what I believe much more than rewards or awards. The biggest achievement of mine is the satisfaction on the face of more than 200 students that I have taught and the positive feedback from my clients. Apart from this, I am the youngest Secretary of the rotary club of Ghaziabad working towards bringing a smile on as many faces as I can.
