Sanjay Kumar is an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the 2005 Batch, Kerala State Cadre. He is a qualified Engineer (B-Tech in Production Engineering) from Mumbai University. PG in Cyber laws and cyber forensics, He is Chevening Cybersecurity Fellow, Cranfield University, UK. A wellknown Cybersecurity expert and an author of 4 books, including the best seller book IS YOUR CHILD SAFE?

CAREER SUMMARY: Before joining the Indian Police Service (IPS), Sanjay worked in Mahindra Jeeps as a Trainee Engineer (1 year), and then 3 years in Delhi Metro Rail Corporation.

INDIAN POLICE SERVICE

• SP Sanjay worked as District Police chief in 5 districts which include Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Kasargod, Trivandrum City and Kannur.
• He is the Commissioner of police in two cities Calicut and Trivandrum. Trivandrum range DIG and DIG Armed forces.
• He Joined National Investigation Agency (NIA), Govt. of India on deputation. He was heading the Lucknow branch office and was in charge of the investigation of internal Security and terror-related cases in 6 different States in India (2012-2015).

ADDITIONAL WORKS AND ACHIEVEMENTS

• He is a member of the Counter Child Sexual Exploitation (CCSE) team under the Kerala police for fighting cyber crimes against Children.
• He is also working as a State Nodal officer for creating awareness about the Online Safety of Children.
• He has published book “IS YOUR CHILD SAFE?” focusing on the risks and dangers associated with the Internet and Social networking. The book became a best seller and was well appreciated and was translated into 2 more Indian languages and Arabic.Later he wrote 3 more books.
• He completed CHEVENING FELLOWSHIP ON CYBER SECURITY, at Cranfield University, United Kingdom.
• He was appointed as Senior Technical Officer for preparation of Syllabus of IT books of classes 9 and 10 of State Council of Education and Research Training (SCERT), Kerala Government.
• He conducted and participated in International and national seminars on Cyber Security and successfully organised COCON, an International Cybersecurity & policing conference ( Kerala police Cyberdome) for consecutive years.He also conducted Cyber Security Awareness classes for students and parents of more than 150 schools and have been appointed as State Nodal Officer of “Kids Glove”, Kerala State Government Programme for cyber security awareness to students, parents and teachers in the schools.
• He has conducted lectures on Cyber hygiene and Online disciplined behaviour in various IT companies.
• He was appointed as Advisor, to SCERT (State Education Department) for imparting training to School teachers on Cyber Hygiene.
• He regularly writes informative articles in print media and online news portals and updates on cyber security issues that have an immediate impact on the public. Few are Mathrubhumi, Times, OnManorama, live law, etc.
