A ROARING SIMBAA EATS THE CROSSBREED LIGER

Vijay Deverakonda is a fabulous actor and he has delivered some amazing massy films. Blurring the lines of South vs Bollywood, the actor is now entering the Hindi film industry with Dharma Productions’ Liger alongside Ananya Panday, Ranya Krishnan and Mike Tyson. Directed by Puri Jagannadh, the film shows the actor in a never-before-seen chiselled avatar as he portrays a UFC fighter with dsyteria.

The cast of Liger flew down to Mumbai for an adrenaline-filled trailer launch that saw the presence of Ranveer Singh, who was the chief guest of the event. While Ananya looked regal in a black dress, Vijay opted to go simple and casual with a t-shirt, ochre pants and nothing on his feet but chappals. Calling this project as living his dream, the Dear Comrade actor revealed how lockdown helped him gain the toned body he has now and how he looks at this film as an Indian film first. Talking about his venture into the Hindi film industry and the crossbreeding of South and Bollywood the actor said, “There has always been crossbreeding between industries. Anil sir did South films, Sridevi Ma’am was from the South and there have been many actors who have done South films as well. I am just looking forward to the day when there is no south and north but a singular Indian film industry.”

Adding on whether his debut in Hindi is a boon for the South or Bollywood, he said, “I see it as living the dream. I love telling stories and I love telling them to huge audiences. And what bigger auditorium than India! I see it as a personal dream and ambition coming to life.”

But the person who stole the entire show was none other than Ranveer Singh who with his exuding charm and charisma took over the event within a minute of arrival. He in his overthe-top dress and sunglasses and energy that no one can match introduced the cast and himself in the most charming way possible. On the other hand, Vijay, a meek and introverted personality, could not blossom in front of such energy compared the way he did in Hyderabad. But he had his own charm that took over the audience as they saw him answer a question or even do something as simple as performing the hook step of Akdi Pakdi. As Ranveer called him “The”, showing off the handsome actor, Vijay does know how to shower his magic on viewers. Liger will soon release in the theatres on August 25 in Hindi, Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil and Kannada.
