NABH Health Quality Certification to SMS Hospital, Jaipur

SMS Medical College, Jaipur and National Productivity Council (NPC) under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Govt. of India and National Health Authority under Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India has taken initiative for the “Demonstration Project for Capacity Building & Handholding Support to Health Care Facilities (HCFs) for quality improvement in India”.

Under the project, seed funding support has been provided by Asian Productivity Organization (APO), Tokyo, Japan.

This project will be implemented in 12 healthcare facilities/hospitals/medical institutes supported by NPC empanelled service providers/agencies having vast experience in quality management systems. 

In this context, an orientation program was organised in the SMS Medical College auditorium today on 01/02/2022 which was attended by SMS hospital administration, doctors and nursing staff. 

Dr JL Meena, divisional head and deputy director, National Health Authority, shared benefits of efficient hospital administration and quality care with the SMS faculty members.

Dr SudhirBhandari,Principal & Controller, SMS Medical College, expressed that bringing NABH health quality certification to the largest public sector hospital of Rajasthan will definitely improve the quality and standards of patient care in the hospital and will immensely benefit the patient satisfaction. 

The NPC service provider will help the hospital in gap assessment, capacity building programme, preparing necessary documentation towards developing quality management system, as well as guiding and assisting the hospitals towards achieving entry-level certification of Quality Council of India (QCI)- National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH).
