FI impact: Blood Bank in SMS super speciality block soon

Jaipur: Patients at Super Speciality Block of SMS Medical College will not have to run here and there for blood. Following an exclusive news story that was published in First India, a process has been started in the direction of setting up a blood bank or starting a blood storage centre in SSB.

The administration of SMS Medical College had also sought a report in this matter. Speaking to First India, SMS Medical College Principal Dr Rajeev Bagarhatta informed that all kinds of facilities are available in SSB, but not having a blood bank is an important matter which has now come to my knowledge. “Whether a blood bank must be made or a storage center must be developed, but patients will not be sent out of the SSB building for blood. Steps will be taken in this regard soon,” said Dr Rajeev Bagarhatta. Notably, the SSB, built at a cost of about Rs 200 cr, has OPD for 1500 patients daily.
