Efforts are on to bring transparency in Universities: Governor Mishra

Jaipur: Governor Kalraj Mishra completed 3 years in the office on Friday and gave a clear message that the corrupt will be punished. “All efforts are on to bring transparency in universities. The process of appointment of Vice Chancellor should also remain undisputed. Vice Chancellors, who commit corruption will be punished,” he said. The Governor also enumerated the major works done in the last three years and also informed about the future action plans. The Governor said that in the past two Vice-Chancellors of Universities were caught on charges of corruption. “Whoever takes a bribe, does corruption, he will surely be punished. No one can be spared in this matter,” he said.

Addressing the media, Mishra said that he has good relations with the State government and he regularly interacts with the CM. “Interaction and dialogue should continue. I have frequent meetings with CM Ashok Gehlot. Governance goes well, it is the joint effort of us both,” he said. On the question of bringing a bill of the State Government to reduce the powers of the Governor as Chancellor in Universities and keep him only as a visitor, he said that legally no such process has come to the fore. Regarding convening the Assembly Session by the State Government without the permission of the Governor, Mishra said that if the Assembly was not prorogued, then the Session can be called at any time. The Governor summons a new session only after the prorogation is done. Regarding the subject of fake degrees in Universities, Mishra said the State Government will look into this and bring uniformity in admission and examination. He said the Swagat online appointment software will be implemented at Raj Bhawan for the visitors. 49 villages of the tribal area will be developed as Adarsh Grams. He said that in the last three years, he has worked continuously for the awareness of the culture of the Constitution. He has taken the initiative to construct Constitution Parks in state-funded varsities to make younger lot aware of basic spirit of Constitution.
