CM to woo MBBS students of 87 castes with fees waiver

Jaipur: Ahead of the assembly elections, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has decided to provide relief in MBBS fees to the candidates of 87 castes, including Jat and Gurjar. Students in these categories will get a benefit of more than Rs 60,000 annually.

The Medical Education Department has made preparations to provide the fee waiver to OBC and MBC category students. The proposal has been sent to the Chief Minister. T Ravikant, Principal Secretary of, the Medical Education Department confirmed this.

Ravikant said that after the approval of the CM, it will be placed in the cabinet meeting for approval. Officials say that this proposal has been prepared on the instructions of the Chief Minister’s Office and is likely to be approved soon. According to the proposal, 6 government medical colleges are included where OBC and MBC students will get exemptions.
