BJYM members reach near CMR, 51 detained

Jaipur: The police on Saturday lathi-charged members of the BJP’s youth wing as they tried to march towards the Rajasthan chief minister’s residence here protesting the rape and murder of a girl in Bhilwara district.

About 51 protestors, including Ankit Chechi, the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha’s newly appointed state president, were detained as they approached the Civil Lines area. Police had placed barricades in the prohibited area but the BJYM activists tried to scale them following which police resorted to the canecharge, officials said.

The BJYM workers reached the CM Residence comfortably. They gathered in large numbers at the BJP state headquarters and suddenly left for the CMR. BJYM State President Ankit Chechi had made a secret plan in Kirodi Meena style.
