Weekly reports must; Inspectors accountable for poor roads: Diya
Jaipur: Deputy CM Diya Kumari has initiated a special campaign to reduce road accidents in Rajasthan. The campaign will focus on repairing accidentprone roads, removing encroachments, and adding safety features such as zebra crossings, road signage, and speed breakers. Officials have been directed to inspect roads regularly and submit reports every seven days.
To reduce the carbon footprint, environmentfriendly materials like bio-bitumen will be used in a pilot road project. Other measures include clearing road shoulders, closing unauthorised median cuts, prioritizing signage, installing reflectors, and preventing wandering animals. Rs. 964.43 crore has been approved to repair 2,328 roads and bridges damaged by rainfall across the state.
