Suriya receives the heartiest congratulations from the Thalaiva for his national award win

Mumbai (Maharashtra): It is the year of Suriya as the actor after delivering two highly acclaimed films in the past year is now invited to the Oscars committee as well. But that is not where his success streak ends. Now, the actor has also bagged the national award for best actor for his 2020 film, Soorarai Pottru. The film grossed four awards this year including Best Feature Film, Best Actress, Best Background Score, Best Screenplay and of course, Best Actor.

The news comes on a special day as well, as Suriya celebrates his 47^th birthday on July 23^rd. Fans and friends have poured in their birthday notes and congratulations for the actor on every social media platform. To top everything off, in the array of congratulatory messages, Suriya received a special tweet from none other than the Thalaiva himself. Superstar Rajnikanth tweeted, “#NationalFilmAwards My heartiest congratulations and appreciation to Surya @Suriya_offl who won the National Film Award, the film director and all the award-winning film artists.”

Suriya also posted a heartfelt message on Twitter, expressing his gratitude and love to all the fans who supported him throughout his journey. He wrote, “My love and 'Thank You' to all those who have encouraged my efforts so far and to my Amma & Appa, Karthi & Brinda, who have supported me always. I dedicate this award to my kids Diya and Dev and to my loving family.”
