Shubhra Saxena takes over as deputy secretary in ECI

New Delhi: IAS officer and UPSC topper of 2009-batch Shubhra Saxena took over as deputy secretary in the election commission of India on Monday. UP-cadre IAS Saxena is currently on central deputation for a period of 4 years. She has been collector in several districts of UP and election management made in the district where she was the collector has been appreciated. Due to her performance in election management, the government of India has made her deputy secretary in the ECI.

She took charge on Monday. Before joining civil services, Shubhra Saxena, a graduate of IIT Roorkee, worked as a software engineer abroad for about four and a half years with a handsome annual package. She says that she always thought about the upliftment and development of the weak, helpless section of society. For this, she was determined to become an IAS officer and made history of success with hard work and discipline.
