NCB Rajasthan Zonal Director Ghanasyam Soni meets Home Minister Jawahar Singh Bedham

Jaipur: Ghanasyam Soni, IRS, Zonal Director, Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Rajasthan, had a cordial meeting with Jawahar Singh Bedham, MLA and Home Minister of Rajasthan, at the Secretariat in Jaipur. The meeting focused on critical issues concerning the state's efforts to combat narcotics trafficking and enhance security measures.

During the meeting, the following key points were extensively discussed:

1. Functioning of the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), Rajasthan: The discussion emphasized the operational framework of ANTF, its current manpower deployment, and strategies to enhance the posted strength at designated ANTF police posts (Chaukis). The need for accelerated development and capacity building to ensure the effectiveness of the ANTF.

2. Drug Trafficking and Smuggling Trends in Rajasthan: A comprehensive review of the prevailing drug trafficking and smuggling scenarios across the state was undertaken. The discussion highlighted emerging threats and the measures required to curb the infiltration of narcotics into Rajasthan.

3. Smuggling and Consumption of Synthetic Drugs: Special attention was given to the alarming rise in the smuggling and consumption of synthetic drugs. Strategies to detect, prevent, and prosecute offenders involved in the trade of such substances were deliberated.

4. Security and Surveillance Along the India-Pakistan Border: Given Rajasthan’s extensive border with Pakistan, the security and surveillance mechanisms in place were reviewed. The conversation centered on bolstering border vigilance to thwart cross-border smuggling activities, particularly those related to narcotics.

5. Cyber Patrolling in Vulnerable Areas: Recognizing the growing role of digital platforms in facilitating illicit activities, the need for enhanced cyber patrolling in vulnerable areas was stressed. leveraging advanced technology and intelligencesharing mechanisms to counter the cyber nexus of narcotics networks.

6. Coordination Between Central and State Agencies: The meeting underscored the importance of seamless coordination between central and state enforcement agencies. It was agreed that joint operations, regular intelligence sharing, and capacity-building programs would be critical to addressing the narcotics menace effectively.

The meeting concluded on a positive and constructive note, reaffirming their commitment to work collaboratively in combating drug trafficking, ensuring public safety, and enhancing the welfare of the citizens of Rajasthan.
