Karan Malhotra reveals Ranbir and Rishi Kapoor’s personalities are poles apart

Mumbai (Maharashtra): Director Karan Malhotra has delivered some amazing action thrillers and is all set to do the same with his next release, Shamshera. But Shamshera not only marks the director’s comeback but also his first film with actor Ranbir Kapoor. That makes him one of the few directors who got the chance to work with both Ranbir and Rishi Kapoor. Talking to ETimes, the filmmaker shared his experience working with the two superstars.

Karan revealed that even though both the actors have similar working cultures, their personalities are poles apart. He said, “I think their culture of acting is very similar. But their personalities on set are on totally different tangents. It’s like the North Pole and South Pole.”

He added, “Chintu uncle was a very flamboyant, loud, out-there and confrontational person. Ranbir is the complete opposite of that. Ranbir is happy-go-lucky. He does his masti quietly. He’s happy with himself as well as indifferent.”

He further went on to add that although they have different personalities the one common factor, they share is that they surrender to the director’s vision. He stated, “At times they gave me even more than what I expected. They never worked for themselves. There could have been so much drama on sets, because both were such big stars. But they were professional and they worked for the film.”

Shamshera directed by Karan Malhotra and starring Ranbir Kapoor alongside Vaani Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt will release in theatres on July 22, 2022.
