Gopalpura bypass project’s work moves at a snail’s pace

Jaipur: The plan for redevelopment of Jaipur’s Gopalpura bypass is not able to get off the papers and materialise on the ground despite the passage of a year.

The plan is to be implemented on such roads as the Cabinet Empowered Committee had given instructions for this a year ago.

There are many roads in cities across the state which are marked as commercial and mixed land use in the masterplan, but non-residential activities are going on these roads.

There is a need to regulate these activities and provide various facilities on the road according to these activities.

In this context, the Cabinet Empowered Committee constituted under the chairmanship of UDH Minister Shanti Dhariwal had a meeting on February 14 last year and instructions were given to prepare and implement the redevelopment plan of Gopalpura bypass as a pilot project.

It was also decided in the meeting that after Gopalpura bypass, a similar redevelopment plan would be implemented for other such roads in the cities.

A dozen objections and suggestions were received on the proposed plan. After disposing of these objections and suggestions, the report has also been prepared
