Fake NoC for organ transplant: Action against Manipal hospital

Jaipur: The Rajasthan government has suspended the registration and renewal certificate (Form-16 and 17) meant for Oragan transplant, issued to Manipal Hospital, Jaipur in view of its suspected role in organ transplant.

The action was taken by the authorized officer of Human Organ and Tissue Transplant following directions by Additional Chief Secretary of Medical and Health and Medical Education Department. Authorized officer Dr. Rashmi Gupta said that Manipal Hospital was issued registration and renewal certificate for transplantation of human organs under the Transplant of Human Organs Act.

Recently, after the issue of fake NOC being issued for human organ transplant came to light, Girraj Sharma, an employee from Fortis Hospital, was arrested in this case. This employee was also previously working in Manipal Hospital.
