Birla extends greetings to traders, others in Kota
Kota: Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, on Saturday, visited Rampura and Purani Sabzi Mandi, one of the city’s main and oldest markets, for Diwali celebrations. He wished the people in the market and the traders.
Birla was welcomed with flower showers and fireworks at various places. Some garlanded him, while others fed him sweets. He took blessings from the elders and also enquired about their health. A crowd gathered and they all reached Agrasen Bazaar where Birla met every trader and shopkeeper till Bartan Bazaar and Bajaj Khana and wished them prosperity.
Birla said that the old market and its splendor reminded him of his childhood. “Even today people from every corner of Hadoti come here and the trust between the merchant and the customer is visible. Diwali gives us an opportunity to meet our loved ones. May Lord Ram bring happiness, peace and prosperity in everyone’s life,” he said. He also stopped at a tea stall for some time and talked to people while sipping tea. He also tasted Kota’s famous kachori. People gathered around to click selfies with him. Senior leader Pankaj Mehta, District Prez Rakesh Jain and others were also present.
