‘Tri-State’ efforts to stop illegal mining
Jaipur: A high-level meeting regarding the prevention of illegal mining in the National Chambal Sanctuary was held on Monday through video conferencing. A discussion was held between Rajasthan Chief Secretary Usha Sharma, Madhya Pradesh Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains and Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary Durga Shankar Mishra regarding inter-state coordination to stop illegal mining in the Chambal region.
In the meeting, discussions were held to establish coordination between the departments concerned (Forest, Mineral, Police and District Administration) of the three states and to exchange information related to illegal mining to stop it.
Sharma said that all effective steps have been taken to stop illegal mining in Rajasthan and the district administrations of the districts concerned are alert. She said that action is being taken against the people and organisations involved in illegal mining.
