State appoints Solicitor General Tushar Mehta to represent in Kothari case
Jaipur: In the Gulab Kothari case, the state govt has appointed Solicitor General Tushar Mehta to represent the state in the Supreme Court.This follows the government’s decision to file a Special Leave Petition (SLP) against the High Court’s order, which had been issued in January 2017.
The Special Leave Petition is currently pending in the Supreme Court. The High Court had issued a 35-point order on January 12, 2017 and the state government is seeking relief on three specific points. The first point involves the approval of land use in ecological zones as shown in the previous master plan. The state is asking for these approvals to be maintained as per the current Master Plan 2025
The second issue pertains to recreational land use approvals, while the third relates to the implementation of laws, rules, and sub-regulations under the Master Plan 2025.
