Chatur Sagar lake set for new ropeway

Jodhpur: Jodhpur, popularly known as the Sun City, is preparing to unveil a fresh tourism attraction. After the successful installation of ropeways at Mehrangarh Fort and Kailana Hills, a new ropeway project is set to be introduced at the historic Chatur Sagar Lake near Sivanchi Gate. Kaylana Lake is a man-made lake located at the west of Jodhpur, the lake falls towards the Jaisalmer.

The initiative, spearheaded by Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, aims to transform the 250-year-old lake into a vibrant tourist destination. Previously impacted by encroachments, Chatur Sagar is surrounded by lush greenery and is now on the path to restoration.

A Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the ropeway has been completed, with a proposed budget of Rs 6.53 cr. The DPR has been submitted to Shekhawat, who will oversee allocation of funds for the development.
