Women-led SHGs shaping society: Om Birla

Kota: Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla said that there was a time when women of rural areas did not even come forward to express their basic problems but today women associated with self-help groups are writing new success stories in every village. “These sisters can play an important role in the empowerment of women by bringing socio-economic changes through their hard work,” he said.

Birla on Monday participated in the Tiffin with Didi programme at Gadhepan and Seemalia in Sangod Assembly constituency. “It is proud to see that women are leading in every field. To accelerate progress of women, problems of packaging & marketing of products of SHGs will be resolved. By training them and ensuring availability of raw materials at cheaper rates, costs will be reduced, so that they profits can be made,” he said.

Energy Minister Hiralal Nagar said that the resolution of developed India will be achieved only when we can ensure participation of women in every field.
