Woman denies child marriage, kidnapped with bro at gunpoint

Barmer: A woman in Barmer district was kidnapped at gun point after she refused to her child marriage. Shockingly, the victim was kidnapped by the man to whom she got married at the age of five. However, the police chased and nabbed the two accused and rescued the woman. Incident took place late on Tuesday night at Bhiyand village under Sheo police station area in Barmer.

According to Police, the victim, now 20-yearsold, was married off at the age of five. But after she become major, she refused her marriage. On Tuesday night when she was sleeping at her home along with other family members, her husband Bhanwar Singh reached there along with some other people and climbed to terrrace through an electric pole adjoining the house. On terrace accused started beating the family members including the victim’s parents, brother and her sister and at the gun point fled with the victim.

Hansaram Choudhary, SHO of Sheo police station, said that two accused Rajesh Jat and Hukmaram Jat have been booked under various sections of IPC and investigation is ongoing.
