Second brutal nose & ear chopping incident in Barmer

Barmer: A 55-year-old man’s nose and ear were chopped off by a group of people in Barmer district. Incident took place late on Tuesday night in Sedwa police station area. Victim told police that, angry with the remarriage of his daughter, some people have taken revenge. The victim has been referred to higher centre at Jodhpur admitted. He was first brought to the government hospital in Barmer from where he was referred after being critical.

Meanwhile, it is alleged that the accused sliced off Bishnoi’s nose and ear and also took it along. Police, however, said chopped part was missing but it is yet to be subject of investigation that accused took it along. Police said that about 3 years back Bishnoi had married off his daughter Seema in Ogala village but a year after marriage his daughter returned back to father’s home and has been staying at Bishnoi’s house. It also mentioned here that last month on August 10, in another incident a man’s nose was chopped off in Barmer after he called off his daughter’s engagement.
