Raj launches mediation system for consumer dispute resolution

Jaipur: On National Consumer Day, Rajasthan Minister Sumit Godara inaugurated the Mediation System and Consumer Care Conference at the Rajasthan International Center (RIC). Godara highlighted the transformative role of mediation in consumer protection, emphasizing its ability to save time, reduce costs, and preserve relationships. He announced that trained professionals would be deployed to mediate disputes, ensuring efficient resolution. Godara also discussed Rajasthan’s eKYC initiative for National Food Security beneficiaries and revealed plans to appoint 87 new members to district forums by March.

Justice Indrajit Singh and Justice Devendra Kachhwa stressed the importance of the mediation process in providing faster, cost-effective justice. Senior Judge Hari Om Atri shared details about new mediation centres established at the State-District Legal Services Authority. The event featured a street play on consumer awareness, the release of a booklet titled “Mediation Ease of Living - Ease of Justice,” and recognition for contributors like Jayshree Sharma, Manish Bhatnagar, Bhavna, Rukhsar and others.
