Mortal remains of soldier who died due to cold wave consigned to flames in Jodhpur

Jodhpur: The mortal remains of the soldier of the Indian Army Ram Prakash Prajapat who died in Siachen glacier due to icy winds were consigned to flames with military honours.

Prajapat was the resident of Artiya Kalan village in Bhopalgarh tehsil of Jodhpur. A large number of people paid tributes to the soldier and raised slogans. Ram Prakash fainted while facing icy winds and he died in the army hospital in Chandigarh during treatment. The body reached his village on Thursday morning. His elder son lit the funeral pyre. He was to retire after two months.

Governor Kalraj Mishra and CM Ashok Gehlot also expressed condolences on the martyrdom of Prajapat. He prayed for the peace of the departed soul.
